Two more Donnermeyer foals will be arriving in 2008!  The first is expected in early May, out of Jasmine Lady, with the second arriving in June, out of Anastasia Moon (a full sibling to Hala).  Please check back often, as additional information and photos will be added when these new arrivals are here.

PF Hala Dynamo

Peregrine Farm's first foal, Hala Dynamo, was born on May 7, 2007.  Hala is an arabic name meaning "Halo of the Moon".   Hala's dam's name is Anastasia Moon and her maternal sire's name is Blue Moon Bandit, a purebred Arabian.  Hala's sire is Donnermeyer (www.brookstonefarms.com), whose pedigree contains the best of modern sporthorse/dressage bloodlines, including Donnerhall, DeNiro, and Weltmeyer in the first two generations.   Hala's name reflects the "moon" theme of her dam's Arabian line as well as the "D" naming tradition associated with Donnerhall progeny.

The goal in breeding Hala was to produce a medium-sized sporthorse with the athleticism, elastic movement and power associated with Donnermeyer's Hanoverian and Swedish Warmblood bloodlines and the refinement,  movement, trainability and people-oriented temperment of Anna's Arabian ancestry.

On September 22, 2007, Hala was inspected by the American Warmblood Society.  She placed sixth out of thirty horses entered, second among weanlings, and received an overall score of 75.7 -- ranking her as "Blue Preferred" -- a designation reserved for the top 15% of horses inspected nationwide.   If you average the heights of her parents, Hala should mature to about 16 - 16.1 hands.   She is very correct, with straight legs, and terrific suspension at the trot.

Most importantly, Hala is sweet, friendly and confident.   She is very people oriented and leaves the herd to come greet you.   While she certainly has some spunk, her in-hand training progressed quickly, and she will obey walk/trot commands at liberty and without a halter -- even in an open field!
