Brigadier Eventing With Ashley Giles
Ashley Giles has been competing at 3-day eventing for over 20 years. She Progressed to the
Preliminary level at age 14, and competed at Intermediate at age 16. Ashley now rides for a number of owners in the
Newnan, Georgia, area, bringing young horses along, competing client horses, and training field hunters for members and Masters
of the Midland Foxhounds and Bear Creek Hounds.
In addition to her many years of riding and competing, Ashley
is a graduate of the United States Eventing Association's Instructor's Certification Program (ICP), and is one
of the few individuals holding this qualification in the South Atlanta area. The ICP certification,
combined with Ashley's Bachelor's degree in education, makes Ashley unusually well equipped to assess
each student's learning style and enables her to adapt her teaching to the needs of each individual student.
Ashley has trained with a number
of internationally recognized instructors, including Ralph Hill (who competed at the World Equestrian Games), Julie Richards,
a two-time Olympian, and Mike Winter, also a two-time Olympian. Ashley has also participated in a number of jumping
clinics with Phillip Dutton during his recent trips to Newnan. Ashley continually strives to improve her own riding
through training with internationally recognized riders and instructors, so that she can pass their insights and expertise
along to her clients, her students, and their horses. Ashley qualified for the American Eventing Championships on two horses at two different levels during the 2011 season.
She qualified at Preliminary on Cardinal Joe, a client horse, and at Novice, on Sassy, also a client horse. Sassy
is for sale on our "Sale Horses" page.
